Ambassador Regina Edzuwah

Ambassador Regina Edzuwah is a highly experienced public servant with a diverse background, holding a BSc., LLB., BL., Diploma in Theology, and GIA Certification. Her career began as an Administrative Officer in various ministries, including Internal Affairs, Defence, and Cooperation and Integration in Africa, culminating in a distinguished tenure at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Retiring in 2017 as Under Secretary Economic, Consular and Legal, she now dedicates her expertise to capacity building for public servants. Utilizing her sociological, legal, and gemmological knowledge, she joined Women in Mining in Nigeria (WIMIN) in 2019, the pioneering gender-focused Civil Society Organisation in Nigeria's mining sector. As an active member of WIMIN, Ambassador Edzuwah champions gender mainstreaming, children's rights, and environmental protection within mining communities, while also promoting value chain addition in the gemstones sector. Representing WIMIN nationally and internationally, her dedication led to her election as National Vice President in March 2024. Further demonstrating her commitment to natural resource governance, she was also appointed North Central Zonal Coordinator for the Natural Resource Governance Group (NRGG) in May 2024. Through WIMIN, she continues to advocate for and address critical issues impacting women and children in the Nigerian mining industry.
