Eng. Janet Adeyemi

Engr. Janet Adeyemi is a highly accomplished professional with over 40 years of experience spanning geology, engineering, and public service. A recipient of the "100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining" award in 2017, she holds a Ph.D. from British Columbus University, a Masters in Engineering from Loughborough University of Technology, and a degree in Geology from Obafemi Awolowo University, alongside a law degree from the Nigeria Open University. She is a Fellow of the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists, the Nigeria Society of Engineers, and a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria. Her diverse expertise encompasses bitumen exploration, water and waste engineering, ESG, extractives, renewable energy, and climate innovation, as demonstrated by her recent role as lead consultant on the ESIA of the Ondo State multipurpose deep sea port. Engr. Adeyemi's extensive career includes significant public service roles, having served as a legislator in the Federal House of Representatives and as a Presidential Aide to three Nigerian Presidents. She has also held leadership positions such as Chairperson of the Cocoa Processing Company and currently serves on the Governing Board of the Infrastructural Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC). A passionate advocate for the mining sector, she founded Women in Mining in Nigeria (WIMIN) and serves as Head of the Technical Committee of African Women in Mining and a member of the International Women in Mining network. Committed to social impact, she also founded Succour for Battered Lives (SUBATEL), a charity organization supporting victims of abuse.
